And the Walls and the Bars
“And the Walls and the Bars” is the title of a seven-minute 2D animated video with no dialogue. The video is an adaptation of scientific and mythical illustrations and is inspired by the aesthetics of 1970’s television advertisements and animations, collaged and mixed with scanned drawings. It displays a nonlinear narrative of an imaginary, nowhere land, reflecting on the notion of suspended time and space. The theme refers to the questions of the relationship between power, dynamics, conflict, resistance, nature, and the repetitive and morphing cycle of life. The soundtrack of the video is a deep techno piece by Farzan Badie called “Somewhere Like Home.”
